Crom Carmichael III
  Chief Executive Officer

O.C. ("Crom") Carmichael III is a native of South Bend, Indiana and a 1971 graduate of Vanderbilt University. After serving as Assistant Vice President of First AmTenn Corporation, Crom became Vice President and part owner of Sports Industries of America, Inc. ("SIA"). In 1981, Crom was promoted to President of SIA, and since 1984 has served as President and CEO of SIA's successor company, Carmichael & Carmichael, Inc. Once one of the largest wholesale sporting goods distributors in the country, Carmichael & Carmichael, Inc. now focuses its operations on the production and marketing of educational audio cassette programs. Since 1984, Knowledge Products has sold over 2,000,000 titles and served more than 150,000 customers.

 
Jian (Jim) Zhao, Ph.D.
  Chief Science Officer, Vice President

Jim Zhao, Ph.D., 46, has led the scientific development of natural products for Nashai Biotech, LLC since the company was founded in January 2000. Dr. Zhao is Chairman of the Nashai Scientific Advisory Board and is responsible for its national and international activities.

Dr. Zhao is currently involved in the research, clinical trials and product development phases of Nashai products, and is a co-author of the clinical trial study.

Prior to joining Nashai, Dr. Zhao was CEO of RJ Biotechnology Incorporation, a drug development company in China. During his tenure, the company successfully brought two major products to market and was recognized as an Outstanding High Tech Company by the Shanghai government in 2000.

Dr. Zhao earned his postdoctoral degree in Molecular Immunology from the University of Chicago; a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana; and a B.S. degree in Neurobiology from Fudan University, Shanghai, China, where he currently serves as an Adjunct Professor at the Department of Pharmacology, School of Pharmacy.

Dr. Zhao holds two patents from the China Patent Office: Slow Release Formulation of Recombinant Proteins; and Method of Obtaining Tea Pigments from Tea Leaves. His research papers have been published in prestigious professional journals reaching national and international audiences. He has also presented papers and participated in numerous worldwide scientific meetings and symposia.

 
John Taylor
  Chief Operating Officer
John Taylor, a CPA and graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology, has gained exceptional competency in developing companies that sell tangible consumer products to the retail trade and direct to consumers during his 30 plus years in business. He has particular expertise in managing start-up businesses with rapid sales growth. His vast experience includes the development and managing of distribution systems, manufacturing facilities, and the financial oversight of business operations domestically and internationally. It is noteworthy that his resume includes managing athletic shoe distribution companies and highly successful toy manufacturers, to include the marketing and development of one of the most successful toys ever sold in the United States.
 
Mike Hassell
  Secretary

Mike Hassell, an investor and governor of Nashai, is a Nashville entrepreneur and former entrepreneur in residence at Vanderbilt University Technology Company. He currently is EVP of Investments at Conduit Corporation, a private spin-off of VUTC specializing in enterprise formation and early development for information technologies. An electrical engineering graduate of Georgia Tech and Harvard MBA, Hassell began his career in marketing and brand management at Procter and Gamble.

 
Barney Regen, Esq.
  Director

With a background in both civil, and military Intelligence education, Barney B. Regen earned his J.D. from Vanderbilt University in 1968. Currently Barney is Member and Chief Manager of White, Regen & Garton, PLC located in Dickson, TN, where the nature of his practice includes general civil; trial in all state and federal courts, business associations, commercial transactions, real estate, probate, bankruptcy and banking law. In addition to participation in many professional organizations including the Tennessee and American Bar Associations, Barney serves as General Counsel, and serves on the Boards of a number of TN corporations.
